Simon Hoten is a Yoga teacher who has been practising & studying yoga for 12 years and teaching since 2010. Having completed a 10 day Vipassana meditation course in New Zealand in 2003 he went to his first yoga class soon after and fell in love with the practise. He completed his teacher training with Triyoga, London, and has subsequently completed Restorative Teacher Training, The art of Teaching One on One Teacher Training both at Triyoga, as well as Donna Farhi’s Teacher Training program.
His teaching style is one of emphasis on the breath, healthy alignment, flow of movement, building strength & flexibility, whilst also giving an opportunity for deep relaxation. His aim for all of his classes, are for them to be open and friendly whilst also being focused. He is also keen to share the benefits of private / one on one teaching, having personally seen the depth of his
own practise develop following such a setting. As a yoga teacher he comes with 25 years prior experience of a fast-paced, city working-life and all the pressures, expectations and challenges that this lifestyle brings. He has seen the positives that yoga can bring first hand, including improved focus and energy as well as helping alleviate symptoms of stress and supporting improved sleep patterns particularly after long periods of travelling. With a regular practise, he has also significantly benefited from improved posture, flexibility and movement in his body where there were restrictions, particularly following the effects of a severe femur fracture in his 20’s and subsequent 12 month recovery period in hospital.
