Osteopathy

Osteopathic treatment involves gentle, manual techniques including soft tissue massage, articulation and mobilisation. These techniques help ease pain, reduce swelling and improve mobility. If appropriate, you will also be prescribed exercises to help you enjoy the benefits of treatment in the long term. Your care and treatment is based on a full case history, assessment and diagnosis of your symptoms.

What Conditions Can Osteopathy Treat

You can get osteopathic treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal problems. The most common issues are back pain, sciatica, neck and shoulder pain. We also treat sports injuries, pregnancy pain, post partum pain and many other joint and other related issues.

Who Are The Osteopaths?

There are two osteopaths working in Health Town.

Ben Posen is the founder and clinic director of Hampstead Osteopathy and has been working in West Hampstead NW6 since 2008. He moved the practice into Health Town in 2013 where there is direct ground floor disabled access and a dedicated treatment room. One of the main reasons for moving the practice to Health Town was the opportunity to offer patients a holistic service. On site there are several therapists, a nutritionist,  as well as a studio dedicated to Pilates, yoga and fitness. This means that if you need a fitness regime to complement your osteopathy treatment you can get it all in the same place

In 2015 Ben Posen was joined by Karly Proverbs.  Karly achieved a distinction from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Masters in Osteopathy and a Diploma in Naturopathy in 2015.  Prior to qualifying as an osteopath, Karly practised as a solicitor in the City of London.  Having worked behind a desk for a number of years, Karly can empathise with the pressures that office-based workers are under. Karly provides treatments on Thursday afternoons / evenings and Saturdays. This means that you can get osteopathic treatment seven days a week.
